Founded by an aspiring comedy writer in LA, Stuff White People Like is a blog which proclaims itself "the scientific approach to highlight and explain stuff white people like". And the more you read, the more the idea makes sense. Apparently this is an exact science.

Among our favourite posts are the following:

"Not having a TV. The number one reason why white people like not having a TV is so that they can tell you that they don't have a TV."

"Coffee. There is no doubt that white people love coffee. Yes, it's true that Asians like iced coffee and people of all races enjoy it. But I promise you that the first person at your school to drink coffee was a white person. You could kind of tell they didn't enjoy it, but they did it anyways until they liked it - like cigarettes."

Just as funny as the blog entries are the comments they provoke, which range from the offended and missing-the-point-entirely - "You're a c*nt and your blog sucks" - to the enraptured: "This is the most exhilarating conversation I've been part of in ages. To have finally found a home, a community, a milieu (white folk love that word)."

The real beauty of Stuff White People Like is that reading it, you're never sure where the boundary between reality and exaggeration lies, which means you can enjoy it from any number of angles and no one need ever feel excluded. This is doubly amazing when you consider that all the humour comes from the same place as the traditional in-joke. And the biggest, most beautifully ironic joke of all - and one we bet the creator of the site would appreciate: white people like Stuff White People Like. A lot.
