On 1st April New Zealand’s Pip Brown (AKA LADYHAWKE) will be donning the CTRL crown and taking over for a month in which TOPMAN CTRL gives itself over to her musical and cultural worldview. She has also put together an unmissable line-up for a show at Manchester’s Deaf Institute featuring Marina and the Diamonds, Dan Black and Fan Death. All this as TOPMAN CTRL enters its second phase.
TOPMAN CTRL is an ongoing monthly series in which some of the most innovative, edgy and emerging musical talent take control of Topman’s music programme and reveal their own personal artistic passions.
LADYHAWKE released her eponymous debut album last year to rapturous applause and was recently nominated for an NME Award for Best Solo Artist. On her involvement with Topman CTRL, she commented, "I just want to share with people more of my personality than just the music I make - my favourite artists, photographers, musicians, films, books - and hopefully turn them on to something new and exciting in the process."
TO CELEBRATE LADYHAWKE’S TAKEOVER, FROM 1ST APRIL, TOPMAN CTRL WILL BE GIVING AWAY TICKETS TO THE MANCHESTER GIG PLUS A £200 SHOPPING SPREE. Ladyhawke will upload tracks of her choice as well as give tips and views on music, film, fashion, art and all the other cultural matter that colours her creative life.
